+ update from vanessa jean
things are great as spring has finally emerging in portland. sure,
we don’t have cold winters here, but it’s been nice to have some sunny days in
the past week! the radish and beet seedlings are coming up in the garden and i
can open the windows during the day. the studio has been buzzing to fill orders
for bat mitzvah gifts and new york pr companies. no complaints here, i like
being busy! the goal now is to buff up and launch one-of-the-kind bags while
collecting inspiration for the reuse bags. this month i have two inspirations
i’d like to share with you. the first is community supported agriculture
(CSA) which promotes a direct
relationship between farmer and consumer, creating a sustainable food system
for all involved. you get fresh produce straight from the farm, the farmer has
a direct market and the connection between the land, the food and you is
secured! visit localharvest
to learn more about the CSAs near you. the second nugget i’d like to share is a
place called S.C.R.A.P. (The School
Community Reuse Action Project), a portland organization with a mission “to
promote creative reuse and environmentally sustainable behavior by providing
educational programs and affordable materials to the community.” check for
similar organizations in your community and find out how to reuse and recycle
creatively.
+ clearance continues!!
our clearance sale continues. click here to find great savings
on cool duct tape stuff like this brown and pink clutch
+ new stores
no new stores to add this month, but please visit our favorites here. and we’re always looking
for new places to sell our stuff, so drop a line if you have any good ideas!
+ do you have website skills?
we are still looking for someone with website skills who can help us
update the more technical parts of our website (like the template for our
detail pages). we would love to offer duct tape stuff as trade. please contact help@vanessajean.com if you have any
skills or know anyone who does.
